I was a Robot Witch from the 19th Century!! The numbers really turned and you could spin the numbers... haha!

So- the rest of the weekend was as crazy as I thought it would be.

The party we went to Saturday night ($30 per ticket, all you can drink) ended up being a complete bust. A fight broke out behind the bar (still not sure how that happened), involving four guys and two girls (and I think half of them were the people actually hosting the do), and it got so bad the hired security guys fled the building. That was clue number one we should get the hell out of there fast, but sure enough, the cops had arrived and weren't letting anyone out. It was completely ridiculous. I was pissed, cause I hadn't drank anywhere near $30 in booze! I knew it was too good to be true.

Once the coppers let us out, my neighbour James and I headed to a couple other parties, and the night ended up being fun enough. We got home at 5am (4am?) after walking around downtown all night, greeting other Hallowe'ener's. Fortunately, I felt good enough to go grocery shopping on Sunday, which was the only thing required of me to do all day. Food is necessary!

Oh- what a crazy weekend this is, and it's not even half over!

Yesterday was a shitty day at work- my boss keeps telling me I need to get more work done, but I'm trying the best I can. And unfortunately my job is set up so that the inefficiency of my co-workers affects my productivity. ARGH! Inventory count is happening today, so hopefully once that is done, my boss will lighten up a bit.

So last night, we had a little Halloween BBQ. We decorated the patio and carved pumpkins, and had some drinks and burgers. It was a great time! About 10:30, I get a call from a co-worker, and he was checking up on me because I was upset at work and had left early without saying goodbye to him! What a nice guy! I couldn't believe it... but I hope I didn't say anything inappropriate- I was a little drunk! Oh well...

After the BBQ we went to the Spin Gallery for a Halloween party. It was pretty cool- awesome tunes (our friend Neil was spinning some great beats) and a bunch of excellent costumes! Lots of skanky hoes, too. I'm not sure when the purpose of Halloween strayed from dressing up in spooky costumes to dressing in as little clothing as possible and calling yourself a schoolgirl or a sexy alien. It was a little disappointing to learn that the organizers had hired some gogo girls, and I ended up loosing my new black shrug, but besides that- it was a great time!

Tonight is the much anticipated Vampirella, Loft of Blood Halloween party on Adelaide Street West. It's a private event, but 125 tickets were sold so it's gonna be fabulous. I've heard it's going to be pretty messy actually- tickets were $30 all you can drink!

Photo of the Day, October 27th, 2005

This is one of those viewers you pay to look through, along the Detroit River in Windsor, ON (my hometown). I thought it looked like a robot face, so I shot a close-up. Just something quirky, which most of my photos are.

So- the shit hit the fan today with those two co-workers I was talking about. They've got the managers involved now, so hopefully things will be resolved and the guy will get some psychotherapy or something. Honestly. When people have been telling you that you need help for "your whole life" (his words), then maybe you should heed their advice.

My thumb hurts from smashing it on my bike lock, so I'm gonna keep this short.

This here is a baby cougar named Sammy, and she's living at Colasanti's in Essex County right now. My cousin Laura is the zookeeper there, and we got to go in the pen and play with her and her roommate, a baby lion named Nala. They were super cute, but they're claws and teeth were sharp! I love her blue blue eyes and her little moustache!

So today I had my writing class. "Creating Short Stories", it's called. So far it's been good, but some of the people in the class just seem so self-righteous! And tonight I found out why. Some of the people have previously taken the "Expressive Writing" class, and apparently that makes them better than the rest of us. Or this could just be me being self-defensive. Whatever...

Anyways- tonight we learned about point of view. 10 points to whoever can define the Essayist/Omniscent narrative. We also learned about some other tools. 20 points to whoever can define Meta-Fiction. No Google allowed! LOL...

This is Hallowe'en! This is Hallowe'en!
This year I'm being a Robot Witch from the 19th Century. Will definitely be silly-icious!

Aren't these just the cutest?!? I knew you'd like to see them...

COFFEE

So here's something interesting for you to look at. It's a yummy cup of coffee at Squirrely's on Queen West. It's been way too long since I've been there. We gotta hook that shit up.

So let's see... today I got up, neglected to dress myself sufficiently for this horrendous weather we're suffering through, and rode my bike to work.

It was a chilly ride, and not without the usual B.S. Cyclists who run red lights, resulting in my having to pass them- again- are so annoying. Cars that insist in parking in bike lane, now that's irritating. But people that yell at you for ringing your bell- that takes the cake. The fact that they get offended by your warning to them is a little unsettling. It's just a wee bell!

Work was normal- two greeting cards were passed around today- and we're having a potluck on Thursday. Gotta love office potlucks... I'm bringing Caesar salad to this one- store-bought, of course.

This one co-worker is having a problem with another co-worker (neither are me, I swear). The one hovers around the other, waiting to "talk"- which means he'll pour his heart out to her and she'll care as much as a Republican cares about the dolphins. The guy is intense, and depressed, and just wants to talk. She doesn't want to be that person for him. So we (her co-workers) hear about it. What do I tell her? What should she say to him? It's a sticky situation, especially now that the girl is single. Not my problem, though, really- now is it! Oh- I'm horrible...

Tuna melts and fries from the oven for dinner. Yum- but not quite as good as mom used to make. My neighbour made this wicked salsa from the left over green tomatoes from the garden, with apples, onions, cilantro, garlic, cinnamon, sugar, salt, and a bunch of other stuff my tastebuds couldn't sort out. It was sensational (actually, we dubbed it James' Sensational Fresca Salsa). James is the king of food experimentation.

And then I worked hard at getting this blog up and running.
It's been a long time coming.

*hey man, good tune*
